Head of Operations Jobs - London
ENGIE are recruiting for a Head of Operations to be based at Canary Wharf, 25 Canada Square, London, E14 5LQ. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week, MondayFriday 9 am5 pm . General Overview: The Head of Operations will be responsible for managing all contracts within their own remit, as well as providing leadership and operational support to Account Managers within the Sector. Ensuring work is appropriately prioritised and organised. Manage a range of complex activities and issues across a number of different contracts. Reporting to the Sector Managing Director (MD), HLR
Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:
Customer Relationships/Business Development:
  • Take a senior operational role in business development within the Sector
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key existing stakeholders/customers and potential customers at high level to generate value-adding long-term business streams for the Sector and for the UK BU
  • Develop compelling retention plans for the contracts under direct control and work with the Sector MD to create retention plans for major contracts within the sector
  • Work with the Head of Retail Energy to exploit opportunities to expand our Energy With Services (EWS) offering
  • Act as operational sponsor for new opportunities in the Sector and contribute to bid strategy and solution
  • Understand and meet customer requirements, utilising feedback to enhance service delivery
  • Work with account managers to monitor performance of sub-contractors across the Sector to ensure optimum effectiveness, fairness and value for money
Operational Responsibilities:
  • Provide operational support to all FM contracts across the HLR sector, driving consistency of delivery standards and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and company procedures across all the functions – Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ)
  • Monitor, review and demonstrate a process of continuous improvement across contracts of own responsibility
  • Maintain awareness of potential risks and opportunities within contracts
Leadership & People Development:
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate disparate teams across multiple sites
  • Establish good working relationships with other team members and willingly contribute to overall team objectives
  • Act as Employee Engagement lead for the Sector
The Head of Operations will:
  • Be responsible for a range of contracts (>6) with annual revenues in excess of £10M and delivering >5% EBIT
  • Be responsible for supporting Account Managers in driving organic growth of 10% per annum on the Sector’s 10 Key Customers
  • Ensure that all team members (180+ in the Sector) are able to carry out their duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Be responsible for the performance management and development of own direct reports and support the Account Managers in managing and supporting their teams
  • be responsible for managing all contracts within their own remit, as well as providing leadership and operational support to Account Managers within the Sector.
  • Ensuring work is appropriately prioritised and organised.
  • Manage a range of complex activities and issues across a number of different contracts

Qualifications Qualifications or Required Experience:
  • Ideally educated to degree level or with equivalent experience
  • Inspirational leader with proven track record in managing and motivating teams
  • Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team
  • Significant experience operating at a senior level delivering FM and/or outsourced services in the Heritage, Leisure or Retail sectors
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen with experience running P&L of >£10M
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to deal effectively at all levels
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
