Provide advice and support to Hampshire schools
work in partnership with schools to help ensure the best possible attendance so children can make great progress and achieve positive outcomes.
We offer support to schools, parents and other agencies – you will need an understanding of guidance around school attendance, excellent interpersonal skills, IT and experience of working in schools.
You will be adaptable, tactful, able to absorb information quickly and be able to work independently although part of a larger team. You need to be credible as you will be advising headteachers.
Answering telephone and inbox attendance enquiries from schools
Close liaison with schools – support and challenge
Case work involving direct support to Headteachers, LA Officers
Liaison around HIAS annual data
Research, joint working with the Designated Attendance Lead and Legal Attendance Team
Triaging of medical referrals
Oversight of primary medical referrals
Apply and DfE policy around attendance and medical referrals
Investigating and preparing responses for complaints
You will need:
A level qualification or equivalent
Significant experience of school systems
High level inter-personal skills
Excellent communication skills
IT – especially excel, word and power point
Ability to influence competently
Use of initiative and problem-solving skills
Planning skills and ability to prioritise
Use of own car for work purposes to attend meetings locally and countywide
Some working from home
