are looking to recruit a permanent HWRC Operator at our Moleigh site in Oban, Argyll and Bute In this role you will undertake work on the Household Waste Recycling Centre to ensure visitors and members of the public have a quality and safe experience. You will maintain a high level of Health & Safety compliance at all times and maximise best use of resources on site to acheive high levels of recycling and diversion.


Duties include:

  • Whilst being fully engaged in our safety culture, you will be expected to raise close calls on an on-going basis and in doing so reporting all incidents as per the incident reporting systems, allowing the Company to improve daily and protect fellow workers, members of the public and other visitor to site
  • Working inside in a small team, being totally focused on giving the customers who attend site a quality and safe experience
  • Carry out day to day tasks in line with business core values.
  • Assist users of the site in segregating materials in line with the Site Working Plan and Safe Operating Procedures
  • Carry out Environmental inspections and assist in closing out corrective actions
  • Operation of HWRC on a daily basis and providing support to the weighbridge for incoming and outgoing transactions during busy periods or periods of staff leave
  • Undertake general site work/duties which include housekeeping, maintenance of skips and containers, litter/paper picking and generally keeping the site safe and tidy
  • Follow all risk assessments and safe operating procedure that are relevant to the post
  • Comply with and actively participate in company standards, procedures, environmental and quality systems
  • Keep all equipment clean and maintained to ensure a safe working environment
  • Provide similar support at other sites within the region as required.


Skills and Experience Required


  • Be able to deliver friendly, safe and quality experience to all customers that attend site
  • Undertake all duties with personal and team safety being at the forefront of every task
  • Ability to work productively with all members of the operations team and others visitors to site
  • Able to carry out daily maintenance duties and minor repairs
  • Willing to be flexible in whatever task you are expected to carry out
  • Demands high standards of themselves and others and is able to translate this into high quality, high pace outputs
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, consistent relationships at all levels
  • Basic understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance.
