We are seeking a part-time Research Coordinator based at the Kadoorie Centre for Critical Care Research and Education at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, you will provide the project co-ordination skills to enable the clinical research team to deliver a number of key grant projects.
You will work under the overall supervision of the Critical Care Research Programme Manager but will be expected to work closely with Oxford University Hospitals Trust Informatics team, the academic clinicians, nursing team, engineers, computer scientists, and other researchers on the project, including those from other institutions. You will be expected to organise project priorities to ensure study milestones are achieved within contractual timelines.
You will have a University degree or substantial experience working in research administration. As well as excellent organisational and time management skills, and the ability to work to deadlines and experience of using the IRAS system. To be successful in the role, you will have excellent writing skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise copy in accessible English. A comprehensive knowledge of standard office software packages and excellent IT skills are essential. You are required to be pro-active, flexible, are able to multi-task and be self-motivated and quick to learn.
Day-to-day work will include routine administration tasks for the group which will typically involve processing of employment contract application forms, invoices and expense claims, maintenance of holiday and sick leave records, management of stationery items, and liaison with the departmental administration and finance teams to resolve queries.
Although much of the necessary site liaison can be performed via remote link, some travel between Oxford and Portsmouth will be required.
This post is to cover the absence of the substantive postholder, who is taking a period of maternity leave. The post is available until 31 March 2020.
The post is part-time (up to 0.8FTE/30 hours per week) and you will need to be able to work at least 0.5FTE/18.75 hours per week to cover the maternity leave post until 31 March 2020.
