    The Governors of St John with St Michael CE Primary School are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and talented Early years teacher (reception) to work alongside established members of our team.

    The successful candidate must be committed to supporting the Christian ethos of the school and must be willing to quickly change and adapt to new and possibly never tried before working practices to fit in with current government guidelines surrounding social distancing and safe hygienic working practice. This may include within the classroom environment or if necessarily remotely.

    Our school is set in the beautiful Rossendale Valley adjacent to farmland in a semi-rural environment and we benefit from easy access to the countryside. We have a reputation locally for being a very friendly inclusive school and are keen to maintain this accolade. As we are small school most of the staff are able to get to know most of our pupils personally and become aware of and sympathetic towards each child's strengths and weaknesses.

    We are looking for a class teacher who is:-

    The school governors take the issue of safeguarding the pupils of the school very seriously and to this end the successful candidate will be required to obtain an enhanced clearance from the Criminal Records Bureau. The successful candidate will also be required to provide documentary proof of identity and qualifications and references from previous school based employers (which can include placements in the case of an NQT)

    This is a temporary 12 month contract with the possibility of renewing to a full time contract after the initial 12 month period and would suit a newly qualified or an experienced teacher. The starting pay grade for this post is M1.

    Site visits can potentially be arranged but due to the current lockdown situation how this can be facilitated is subject to daily review. If you would like to discuss the possibility of an informal visit please contact our chair of governors or headteacher to discuss how this can be conducted safely and inline with the guidelines at that time.

    The recruitment system will also be affected by Covid 19 restrictions and although we would love to meet any successfully shortlisted candidates face to face we need to guided by the advice at the time and so may potentially be an online interview process.
