are currently seeking a Project Surveyor who is chartered or coming up to being chartered to be based in our newly refurbished Exeter office.
You will be part of a team providing comprehensive, accurate and value driven quantity surveying services on our building projects as part of a wider multidisciplinary office. You will have a consultancy background and be RICS qualified or you will be working towards chartership.

About the Team:
Building & Places have secured a range of UK Frameworks relating to government and commercial projects, which our Exeter team plays a key part in delivering.
You will be joining a highly skilled and respected multi-disciplinary design team in our Exeter office of 100 staff. We work on a varied, complex and interesting range of projects, typically up to £100m in value.

Job Responsibilities:
A full specification is available for applicants which outlines your duties in detail. It will be sent to you once your application has been progressed by our recruitment team.
As a Project surveyor you will work on projects of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors and appropriate problem solving.
You will be expected to work through feasibility estimates, cost planning, contract procurement, tender documentation and post contract management whilst driving performance standards through professional and positive communication and the effective use of the performance management process.
On top of your usual duties you will also be aware of and develop opportunities and where appropriate bring to the attention of Directors and the Business Development Department.
Functional and Technical Skills
+ Cost Planning: Area Schedules, Measurement of Quantities and entry onto Estimating software, Cost planning, Presenting Cost plan.
+ Tender Documentation: BQ/Pricing Schedule Measurement, Preliminaries/Appendices, Team/Project leader.
+ Tender Evaluation: Review and Analysis of Tenders, Tender Reports.
+ Feasibility Estimates.
+ Value Engineering and Commercial Awareness.
+ Risk Management.
+ Post Contract Management: Preparation of Valuations, Final Accounts, Cost Reporting, Change Control.
+ Contract Procurement.
Minimum Requirements
+ Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying and ideally charteredRICS.
+ Experience within a PQS business.
+ Proven post qualification experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning
+ Ideally you will live locally to the office or be willing to relocate
+ Having car and a driving licence would simplify your commute but is not essential
